East Allandale Water and Wastewater Improvements

Project Overview

The East Allandale Water and Wastewater Improvement Project is part of Renewing Austin, Austin Water's program to replace and upgrade water and wastewater lines across the city.

We have documented numerous water line breaks in this area. Through this project, we will install 3,000 linear feet of new water lines and 700 linear feet of new wastewater lines. We will also rehabilitate an additional 100 linear feet of wastewater line using cured-in-place pipe lining, a process in which a contractor inserts a new lining into an aging pipe and hardens it to restore the pipe to full strength.

For projects like this, Austin Water partners with Austin Capital Delivery Services (ACDS) for construction management. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Some weekend work may be required.

Timeline

This project was partly completed between 2021 and 2022. Construction ceased in summer 2022 due to the contractor's inability to complete the project. Austin Water has hired a new contractor, and we anticipate construction will resume in the summer of 2025 and take about 18 months to complete.
