When's My Watering Day?

Watering only one day a week instead of two or three times a week could save an average household 7,000 to 14,000 gallons every month and up to $150 on your monthly bill. Water conservation saves money, reduces the energy needed to treat and deliver water and wastewater, and helps ensure clean water for future generations.

What's new in the Water Forward 2024 Update?

Water Forward is Austin's integrated 100-year water resource plan. First approved by Austin City Council in 2018, it outlines diverse, environmentally conscious strategies to adapt to population growth, drought conditions and climate change — ensuring a safe, reliable, equitable and affordable water future for all Austinites.

Austin Water completed the plan's first five-year update in 2024, incorporating community input and guidance from the Water Forward Task Force. The updated plan reflects current climate and population projections for a range of possible futures.
