Westbank Lift Station Odor Control Unit Project
Project Overview
Since the Summer of 2020, Austin Water has maintained a temporary vapor unit at the Westbank Lift Station located at the Laguna Loma Common Area. The vapor unit pulls air out of the wastewater pipelines (known as the collection system) to create negative pressure. The air that is removed is cleaned before it is discharged to the environment.
Based on the success of this temporary unit to address odor concerns, Austin Water has begun engineering design work to build a permanent odor control unit at this site.
Communications
Austin Water is scheduling an additional meeting in response to requests from neighbors. The project team will present detailed drawings to demonstrate constraints and planned placement for the project elements.
