The Development Services Department (DSD) issues other types of permits for various City Departments.

The City of Austin's Open Data Portal provides easy access to open data and information about your City government. We encourage the use of this public data to spark innovation, promote public collaboration, increase government transparency, and inform decision making.

Fire Department approval is required to install a stationary Liquefied Petroleum gas (LP-Gas) aboveground or underground container or LP-Gas cylinder exchange cabinet at commercial businesses, multi-family housing, and one- and two-family dwellings.

This service is for anyone who has had or witnessed an interaction with the Austin Police Department (APD) and wants to provide feedback. It is administered by the Office of Police Oversight (OPO), which is impartial and separate from the APD. File a complaint about the Austin Police Department online, over the phone, in person, or by mail. You do not have to provide your contact information.

The Texas Public Information Act gives you the right to access all government records, except where certain exceptions apply. The public information officer may not ask you why you want the records. Visit the Austin Public Records Center to request public records online.

The Repeat Offender Program (ROP) was created in 2013 as a rental registration program for properties with multiple code violations. The intent of City Council in passing this ordinance and its amendment was to ensure Austin renters are living in properties that meet minimum health and safety standards.

In partnership with the Austin/Travis County Success By Six Coalition, the City works to ensure families have access to high-quality early learning options that meet their needs. Additionally, the City works with Texas Rising Star 4-Star providers through Workforce Solutions Capital Area Child Care Services (CCS) to provide subsidized child care for eligible families.
