The goal of the City of Austin Parking Enterprise Division is to make access to curb space convenient and user-friendly through the regulation of public parking spaces.

Parking Enterprise manages on-street parking to balance mobility and access needs for residents, businesses and visitors to our city, while promoting compliance with all City parking ordinances. This includes parking meters, parking and valet enforcement, and specialized zones such as commercial delivery, residential parking permits, car-share parking and more. The Austin Transportation Department does not manage private off-street parking lots and garages.

New Parking Regulations

Austin City Council approved comprehensive parking-related changes to the City Code on Feb. 13 that included updating fines and creating three new violations for vehicles illegally blocking a bike lane, improperly using an electric vehicle charging station and illegally parking in a right-of-way closure during a special event.
