As a part of the master plan for the Mueller community, the City of Austin created a Parking Transportation Management District (PTMD) to improve street parking availability and generate revenue that will contribute to mobility improvement in the Mueller area. That strategy aims to create more parking space turnover in a high-demand district with more consistent enforcement.
How to park in the district
Street signs in the Mueller area will instruct visitors on which zone they are parking in. We encourage everyone to download the Park ATX app ahead of their trip so they can quickly park on the street and enjoy their time in Mueller. Park ATX users can enter promo codes FREE15ATX1 and FREE15ATX2 for two free 15-minute sessions (codes refresh daily). The Mueller area has several parking garages, and many of the businesses validate (please confirm with the merchant).
Paid Parking hours for the Mueller area:
Monday – Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday – Saturday: 10 a.m. to Midnight
Paid parking times are subject to change. Please check the signs to confirm.
What is a Parking and Transportation Management District (PTMD)?
A Parking and Transportation Management District (PTMD) is a defined geographic area that may include a mix of retail, entertainment, commercial, medical, educational, civic and residential uses in which City Council finds that traffic flow on public streets requires a higher level of management than commonly provided and determines that parking meters will facilitate traffic flow objectives. The PTMD dedicates 51 percent of the public-paid parking revenue, less City expenses, to help with mobility improvements within the established district.
