October 2023
New activity has begun at the Anderson Mill Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 10502 Mellow Meadow Drive. This plant was closed permanently, and now Austin Water is in the process of “decommissioning” the site. Decommissioning work includes site clean-up and demolition of all buildings on the grounds. As part of site clean-up, Austin Water will be clearing out overgrowth that covers the fence surrounding the grounds and repairing the fencing altogether.
Austin Water will also be using this site as a temporary materials yard for approximately three months (October – December / January) while another Austin Water site is under construction. During this time, machinery will be needed to offload aggregate materials to the site, and there will be noise from heavy equipment. This offloading will happen both day and night, so temporary lighting will be put in place for nighttime work.
As work proceeds, we will send updates by email. You can sign up for these notifications here!
If you have any concerns about activities at the site, please report your concern in real-time by calling 512-972-1000 selecting option 1, and telling the agent that you wish to report a “Neighbor Concern” at the Anderson Mill Wastewater Treatment Plant site.
