Eating Apart Together Initiative

Getting you food and supplies while keeping everyone safe

The City of Austin and partners across the community created the Eating Apart Together (EAT) Initiative to get food to people experiencing homelessness through the COVID-19 response. EAT opened new doors for partnering with organizations to help meet the needs of people experiencing homelessness. As program leaders continue to monitor community needs during COVID-19, EAT's shelf-stable food operation wrapped up in June. The last prepared meals will be delivered on Sept. 30, 2021.
