Council Member Marc Duchen

Term of Office

Jan. 6, 2025 through Jan. 6, 2029

Austin City Council Member Marc Duchen was elected in November 2024 to represent District 10, which includes parts of West, North, and Central Austin. His expertise in municipal policy, public safety, and effective community advocacy is built on a foundation of data and financial analysis. Marc is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and holds an MBA.

Council Member Duchen’s areas of policy focus include public safety, wildfire preparedness, environment and parkland, affordable housing, and efficient use of public funds.

During his relatively short time on City Council, Marc helped lead on the adoption of a comprehensive city audit, put forth actionable proposals for preserving and producing affordable housing, held numerous community engagement events, and led the adoption of the latest Wildlife Urban Interface (WUI) Code – which is critical to making Austin safer in the face of growing wildfire danger.

Council Member Duchen's vision for Austin is a city which addresses its issues and growth with well-researched and carefully developed policy solutions that make careful use of taxpayer dollars and help create a green, affordable, and safe home for all of our residents.
