Texas Health and Safety Code requires that a Board of Hospital Managers be appointed for the Travis County Hospital District; the District furnishes medical aid and hospital care to indigent and needy persons residing in Travis County.

The City Manager Search Advisory Task Force will work to provide recommendations, including selection criteria, to the search firm and to the Council.

Ensures compliance with applicable provisions of Chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code, local Civil Service rules established by the Commission, and agreements between the City of Austin and associations representing service personnel.

Advises the city council on issues of common concern to immigrants, particularly in the areas of health and human services, education, and the demographic makeup of the Austin immigrant community.

Advisory body to the council concerning the wellbeing of military veterans in the Austin area.
