On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at approximately 10:12 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a motorcycle collision involving a cyclist at the intersection of South 1st Street and West Slaughter Lane. Both the motorcycle driver and the cyclist were transported to a local hospital. The cyclist, later identified as Jeffrey House, was pronounced deceased at the hospital on January 3, 2026.
