The 22 acre South Congress PID comprises properties lining a six block stretch of South Congress Avenue from Nellie Street south to Annie Street.

On October 16, 2014 the Austin City Council authorized the creation of the South Congress Preservation and Improvement District for a five year period.  The district was last reauthorized August 8, 2019, for a five year period. Properties in the District are assessed an additional $.20 per $100 in assessed value, with a number of exemptions.
