Reimagining Public Safety Budget Changes Approved
On August 13, 2020 City Council approved reductions and re-investments from the Austin Police Department (APD) budget to fund health, housing and critical services.
City-Community Reimagining Public Safety Task Force
On August 17, the City Manager’s Office convened a City-Community Reimagine Task Force. The group will meet regularly and work collaboratively to develop community-centered recommendations that will help shape the public safety transformation process in Austin.
