Methods of Payment
The Austin Municipal Court accepts many different payment methods and offer many ways for your to make your payments. We accept cash (American dollars), money orders, cashiers’ checks, personal checks (from American banks in American dollars), and the following major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. See if and when your payment has been applied by locating your case at www.austintexas.gov/public
- Only full payments and payments on previously approved payment plans may be paid online with any major credit card.
- Cases are updated immediately upon payment.
Pay in Person at any Court Location
- Cash personal checks, money orders, cashiers checks and major credit cards are accepted.
Pay by Mail
- Send a copy of your ticket(s) (or note the case/citation number) with plea and payment to:
Austin Municipal Court, P.O. Box 2135 Austin, TX 78768-2135
- Personal checks, money orders, cashiers checks and credit cards (see above) are accepted
- Do not send cash
- Allow up to 7 days for the payment to be applied to the case(s) before contacting the court.
Pay by Phone
- (512) 974-4800 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Please have a major credit card ready.
- Please have your case number or citation number ready.
Drop Box
- Located near the front doors of all court locations
- DO NOT drop cash
- Please put in an envelope (envelope not provided) and be sure to note the case/citation number(s) that are being paid.
Western Union
In Person
- Get the case or citation numbers and amount to be paid first
- Ask Western Union for the Blue quick Collection form and fully complete
- Ask Western Union to send with the following “codes”:
- Pay: City of Austin; Code City: AustinMunicipalCourt (no spaces); State: Tx. (case sensitive and need the period); Account number: case number or name, date of birth and DL # (if applicable)
Online

- Click on pay bills
- In the search biller box-enter city austin municipal court
- Enter the amount you are paying
- In the account number box - add your case number/citation number
- In the attention field - add name
- Add how you would like to pay
Payment Arrangements

If you cannot afford to pay in full, you may be eligible for a payment plan or other options but you must contact the court to determine eligibility prior to making a partial payment - request alternative payment options.
