We anticipate having the Rank Hiring List ready by the end of June.  It will be posted under the "Initial Rank Hiring List."  A communication will be sent to all candidates who participated in the Written Exam Assessment and the Structured Oral Interview.

Attendance and obtaining passing scores in both the written exam and the structured oral process are prerequisites for advancing further in the hiring process.

Group 1: Candidates ranked 1 through 120
Candidates in this group will be invited to move forward through the Pre-Hire Assessments scheduled for July through November 2024.

Group 2: Candidates ranked 121 through 300
Additional information about next steps will be emailed to you by the end of October.

Pre-Hire Assessments
All pre-hire assessments are Pass/Fail and include:

  • Medical assessment (including chest X-rays and lab work)
  • Psychological assessment
  • Background check (including fingerprinting)
  • Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)

Final Ranked Eligibility List
The final list will consist of applicants who successfully complete ALL pre-hire assessments. According to relevant regulations, all Fire Cadets will be selected from this eligibility list in sequential order throughout the entire 24-month duration of the list's validity. Candidates may be disqualified based on Pass/Fail criteria during pre-hire screenings, but the rank order of the eligibility list will remain unchanged.

Fire Cadet Academies
Cadet Academies are slated for 2025 and 2026, with sessions scheduled in January and October. Please be aware that the scheduling of Cadet Academies is contingent upon the operational needs of the Department. Successful completion of pre-hire assessments does not guarantee placement in an Academy class, as availability depends on open slots in the respective class.
