Public comment was originally to be held to items on the agenda only.
Time is set aside at noon during each regular meeting of the Austin City Council for a maximum of 10 individuals to address the council on items that are not on the agenda. A person who intends to speak during General Public Communication must sign up in advance with the City Clerk's Office.
For the City Council meeting scheduled on May 16, the City previously intended to focus solely on the Spring 2024 Land Development Code Amendments and did not intend to include a 12 p.m. General Public Communication period.
Given the recent court decision to extend a Temporary Restraining Order regarding City Council meeting procedures, and out of an abundance of caution, the City is adding back the 12 p.m. General Public Communication period for the May 16 Council meeting.
Registration will open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, and close at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14. Registration can be completed by phone (512-974-2210), in person at the Office of the City Clerk, Suite 2030, City Hall, 301 W. 2nd Street, or online.
