First of five town hall meetings is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 at McNeil High School.
Austin, TX—Austinites are invited to “Your Budget, Your Priorities: Community Conversations with T.C. Broadnax,” a series of town hall meetings hosted by the Austin City Manager designed to gather community input on City budget priorities. Broadnax will also discuss the process and the challenges of drafting the City’s proposed budget.
This is the first full budget cycle in Austin for Broadnax, who joined the City of Austin as City Manager in May 2024. He believes engaging with Austinites early in the process to identify community priorities is important.
In the spring City staff begin identifying both City and community needs while drafting the City Manager's proposed budget, which he presents to City Council in mid-July. After review, analysis and amendments, the Austin City Council adopts the City’s budget in mid-August.
These town hall meetings provide the community with a unique opportunity to learn more about the budgeting process and offer feedback before the City Manager develops the proposed fiscal year 2025-26 budget.
