Rebates, Tools & Programs
We offer rebates and free conservation tools to help our customers use water wisely.
Water conservation saves money, reduces the energy needed to treat and deliver water and helps ensure clean water for future generations.

- Customers of a qualifying water provider other than Austin Water may be eligible for our rebates. See the Qualifying Water Providers section for more information.

Landscape Rebates

| Landscape Survival Tools — mulch, compost and core aeration | Up to $120 |
| WaterWise Rainscape — landscape features that capture and retain rainwater | $0.50 per sq. ft. converted (100 sq. ft. minimum), up to $1,500 |
| Rainwater Harvesting — installing a rain barrel or cistern system | Up to $5,000 based on storage capacity |
Irrigation Rebates

Save water in style with our free residential conservation tools.
Our residential customers can request free water conservation tools through the Austin Water Customer Portal. Orders are mailed to you via USPS at no cost. If you prefer to pick up your order at our Waller Creek Center office in downtown Austin, select the pickup option when submitting your request. In-person pickup is by appointment — to schedule, contact watercon@austintexas.gov or call 512-974-2199, option 4.
Indoor Tools
- Showerhead — water-efficient model using 1.5 gallons per minute, available in regular or soap-up valve style
- Kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators — reduce water use without reducing pressure; bathroom aerators use 0.5 gallons per minute, kitchen aerators use 1.5 gallons per minute
Outdoor Tools
- Soil moisture meter — measures soil moisture to help you know when to water (available in frog or ladybug design)
- Water Saver Hose Meter — digital meter attachment for garden hoses and hose-end sprinklers (available through Austin Public Library checkout only)
- Sunlight Calculator — measures light levels in different areas of your yard to help with plant selection (available through Austin Public Library checkout only)
Water Conservation Help Desk
- Walk-in hours are by appointment only. Appointments are available during normal business hours and subject to staff availability. To schedule an appointment with the Help Desk, please contact us at watercon@austintexas.gov or 512-974-2199, option 4.

To be eligible for Austin Water conservation rebates and programs, you must receive water from Austin Water or one of the following providers. Program guidelines will indicate if participation is limited to direct Austin Water customers.
