Austin Healthy Adolescent Program (AHAP) Grant

This project is dedicated to addressing community needs in District 4, with a particular focus on combating unintended teen pregnancies and high STI rates among youth. The project is made possible through collaboration with grant partners Integral Care, El Buen Samaritano, and Nicole Trevino Consulting.

The project's overarching goals are to reduce teen pregnancies and STIs for District 4 (D4) youth annually from 2023 to 2028 through effective prevention programs tailored to the specific needs of the population most in need of services. Secondly, it aims to advance health equity for District 4 (D4) community members, including youth and families, through the provision of supportive services.

These services include parent/caregiver engagement, mental health services, and youth leadership development, all annually between 2023 and 2028. This initiative is dedicated to improving the overall health and well-being of the community by addressing these critical issues.

The project's age focus extends from 10 to 24 years, primarily targeting youth aged 11 to 18. This wide age range allows for flexibility in serving college-aged individuals as well when necessary.

The project described was supported by Grant Number AH-TP1-23-001 from the HHS Office of Population Affairs.
