Every day in Travis County, 18% of people experience food insecurity. The City of Austin is committed to supporting all Austinites in accessing healthy, culturally-appropriate food. Use the resources below to get help with food access for you and your family.
If you or someone you know needs help finding food or other basic needs, visit the Central Texas Foodbank website, call 2-1-1, or go to ConnectCTX.org to find nearby food pantries, meal sites, and emergency assistance programs.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can help people across our community buy the food they need. See if you're eligible for SNAP and learn how to apply.
The City of Austin's Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program is designed for pregnant women, new mothers, and young children. Participants learn about nutrition and how to stay healthy, and receive benefits to purchase healthy foods. Services are free to those who are eligible.

Already receiving SNAP or WIC benefits? You can double your benefits — and support local farmers and retailers — with the Double Up Food Bucks program. There are over fifty participating locations across Texas, including many local farmers' markets.
ConnectCTX, hosted by the United Way for Greater Austin, offers up-to-date information on food, financial assistance, and more. You can also call 2-1-1 to speak with someone who can connect you to local resources by phone.
