Susana Carbajal has served the City of Austin for over 15 years in various strategic leadership roles including the City Manager’s Office, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Economic Development Department, and Law Department. Prior to working for the City of Austin, Susana worked in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill for a Texas Member of Congress and at The White House in the Office of Presidential Personnel. Susana is also licensed to practice law and previously worked at the law firm of Husch Blackwell, LLP (formerly Brown McCarroll, LLP) in Austin, Texas where she practiced corporate bankruptcy law. Susana currently serves on the national board of the Local Government Hispanic Network (LGHN) and has served on other boards of various non-profit organizations providing community services including leadership development, early childhood education, health care, and workforce development.
Carbajal graduated magna cum laude from American University in Washington, D.C., and The University of Texas School of Law.
