The Aquatic Division operates 45 public aquatic facilities, which includes 7 Regional pools, 3 Community pools, 22 Neighborhood pools, 1 Wading pool, Barton Springs Pool and 11 splash pads.  In addition to coordinating open water events and swim team competitions, we also offer instructional programs such as masters swimlifeguard and water safety training and youth and adult swim lessons.

Get Hired! Get Trained! Get Working!

Lifeguard training classes are available for persons 15 years of age and older, while water safety instructor training classes are available for persons 16 years of age or older who wish to apply to work for the Aquatic Division. For employment information, please visit Lifeguarding in Austin.

 

Swim Lessons

The Aquatics Division offers instructional programs for all ages.  A wide variety of swim lessons are available for students 6 months to adult.  Program registration for Summer 2024 opens April 01 2024 at 8:00AM for residents and 10AM for non-residents.

Scholarships Available!

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department offers scholarships to those who qualify.  This scholarship can be used for swim lessons or many other Austin Parks and Recreation classes.  For more info and to download the application, please visit austintexas.gov/pardfinaid.
