Boards and Commissions Information Center

Effective January 18, 2022, members of the community seeking to comment at Board and Commission meetings will be able to do so either by phone in-person for properly noticed meetings. Please contact the staff liaison of the specific board or commission with any questions regarding meeting participation.

Boards and commissions are important in that they enable the public to participate in Austin's government processes. Their activities help shape and influence public policy, because they lend a more diverse viewpoint for the City Council to consider.

The city is currently accepting applications for boards and commissions. Learn more about boards and commissions and how to apply.
