- Public Assembly
The Annual Public Assembly permit is required for public establishments who participate or operate at an occupancy rate of 50 or more people, and whose gross sales constitute 51% alcohol.
- Hazardous Materials
The need for a hazmat permit for chemicals depends upon the quantity and relative hazard of the inventory at a business. The chemical quantities requiring a permit can be very small if a highly toxic, flammable, or reactive chemical is present. Likewise, less hazardous chemicals do not require a permit unless much larger quantities are present.

- Fire Protection System Inspectors
Fire protection systems in commercial buildings must be in compliance of City ordnances. Inspectors must receive training before reviewing systems.
First register with The Compliance Engine and complete the training. Once completed, you are eligible to submit inspections.
- Prescribed Burns
The Austin Fire Department supports the use of prescribed burns for forest and range management, ecological restoration, and training purposes where and when appropriate.
