The City of Austin Office of Civil Rights (OCR) is committed to providing technical assistance for community partners such as nonprofit organizations, public agencies, government offices, and private businesses.
As a civil rights enforcement agency, the Office of Civil Rights is designed to take proactive roles within the community to include the identification of civil rights violations, targeting the cause and effects of the civil rights violations, and engaging in outreach, education, and enforcement efforts.
The Office of Civil Rights maintains a relationship with the community by working closely with our partners to help identify and understand trends, and educate community and business partners of initiatives to eliminate discrimination.
The Office of Civil Rights provides training and presentations throughout the year to address the ongoing need for education on anti-discrimination laws in our communities. We can develop hourly, half-day, or full-day training sessions to meet the needs of your organization or agency. Presentations are tailored to the individual needs of your organization and community. Please contact us if you would like us to provide skills training to your organization.
