The holidays are here, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is ready to help you make your journey jollier! Whether you're off to visit family, escape for a snowy getaway, or chase a little sunshine, we want to make your travels merry and bright. ✈️

The busiest travel days—Friday, December 20, Sunday, December 22, and Monday, December 23—are projected to bring around 30,000 departing passengers to the terminal each day. While that’s not record-breaking, we know many holiday travelers are bringing extra cheer (and a few suitcases), so let’s make your trip as smooth as fresh snow!

Recognizing a need for stronger ties to the community it serves, the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) recently created its first-ever team dedicated to connecting the airport with its neighbors. 
The Community Affairs team, comprised of four professional staff, spent 2024 hosting events, attending community gatherings, sharing information, establishing trust, and building relationships with stakeholders.

After earning her degree in architecture, Lyn Estabrook began her professional journey at an architecture firm in Austin, where she played a role in designing government buildings, including the original airport concessions. October at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) always has a lively buzz, with the terminal bustling as the city heads into one of its busiest months of the year. It's safe to say AUS has experienced more than a few record-breaking volume days and understands what it takes to get travelers to and from that iconic festival or once-in-a-lifetime sporting event. As airport staff prepare to greet thousands of visitors, AUS advises passengers to expect a crowded airport and plan accordingly if they are flying during these stretches:

But just beneath your feet, layers of careful engineering keep your flight safe and support utilities and connectivity across our airfield. As part of our Journey With AUS airport expansion program, the Midfield Taxiways project is paving the way for a bigger and better AUS via new taxiways, Texas-sized utilities, and more. Airfield Project Manager Samantha Pinto sat down with us and helped us scratch the surface of this foundational expansion project.
