The mission of the Corridor Program Office is to design and construct corridors that support mobility, livability, and other outcomes outlined by the Austin City Council for the 2016 Mobility Bond Program in the Contract With Voters.
Corridors are key roadways that affect the overall transportation network. They are major thoroughfares for getting around, destinations for residents and visitors, and home to businesses as well as many Austinites.
In November 2016, Austin voters approved $720 million for improvements to transportation and mobility throughout Austin. Of that, $482 million is being invested in corridor improvements. Over the next eight years, our goal is to develop, design and construct the corridor projects funded by the bond.

The 2016 Mobility Bond Corridor Program is the development, design, and construction of projects along key Austin corridors that enhance mobility, safety, and connectivity for all users—whether you drive, bike, walk, or take transit.

In November 2016, Austin voters approved $720 million in bonds for transportation and mobility improvements throughout the city.
During the next eight years, a dedicated project team of engineers, data analysts, and builders will be delivering these improvements for a more mobile and safe Austin. This team is guided by City Council's Contract With Voters.
Our Future 35 - Austin's Cap and Stitch Program
Because the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) seeks to widen and lower portions of I-35 through central Austin, the City has an opportunity to re-connect East and West Austin through new “caps” and “stitches” that can assist in making important strides toward unifying and mending the divide created by the original construction of I-35 and replacing it with amenities that celebrate and connect all Austinites.
Working alongside and in collaboration with TxDOT’s freeway project, Our Future 35 - Austin’s Cap and Stitch Program is a community-centered effort to co-create new public spaces over I-35. The project seeks to reconnect East and West Austin physically, socially, and economically after decades of divide.
Community is more than a stakeholder in this effort; community is a partner.
