To be considered for a booking at Austin Acoustical Café, here's what to do. Please keep in mind that we book about 6 months out for headlining acts, openers at least 4 months out, and we are mainly interested in original contemporary and traditional folk styles.
If you are known to us, let us know what date range you are inquiring about. Our rotation period is 18 months. Email us using the "Booking Inquiries" button at the bottom of this page.
If you are new to us, send a bio (no photo required) and a recording. If you are interested in a specific date, let us know that. ALWAYS include a mailing address. Your material will be reviewed by the booking committee.
Please do not ask us to visit your web site for recordings and information and don't send us a Sonic Bid kit. We will not respond to either of those requests.

We began our series in May of 2009. We have hosted shows with Butch Hancock, Sara Hickman, Terri Hendrix, Shake Russell, Betty Soo, Bob Cheevers, Vance Gilbert, Chuck Pyle, among others. You can check out some videos from past performances here.
Each month we transform a fabulous acoustically designed room within the Austin Parks and Recreation Department's Lamar Activity Center into our listening room. Austin Acoustical Café presents each show in a true listening room environment. This means you will experience a small intimate show where you don’t have to worry about outside noise such as waiters and kitchen staff or those folks at the next table murmuring or talking loudly.
During the sets, the rule of decorum is that the fans sit quietly while listening to the stories and words of the performer’s songs. I know most of us are used to experiencing our live music in a concert or bar setting where you can really let loose so this may sound a bit dull to you. However, if you have ever enjoyed a show in the Bass Concert Hall where the same rules of decorum apply, I know you will enjoy this venue. The Austin Acoustical Café is truly a place in Austin where one can connect with the music in no other way.
You may now understand, this is not a bar although bottled water, canned drinks, and prepackaged snacks etc. are available during breaks (cash only). Please feel free to bring your own non-alcoholic drinks in as well. The series is presented by The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department and The Live Music Capital Foundation.
