City scheduled to vote on the tax rate 9 a.m. Sept. 10, 2012
The City of Austin conducted public hearings on Thursday August 23, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. and Thursday August 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the City of Austin from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 4.5 percent.
The total tax revenue raised last year at last year’s tax rate of 0.4811 for each $100 of taxable value was $385,309,583.
The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of 0.5050 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $407,440,987.
The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of 0.5050 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $422,071,561.
The City of Austin is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on Monday September 10, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall Council Chambers, 301 West 2nd Street, Austin, Texas 78701.
