Wanted: Felix Rodriguez, Hispanic male, 32 years of age
The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified the deceased in the October 27 homicide as James Paul Fulda Jr.
At approximately 2:06 a.m., Austin 9-1-1 received a call that a person had been shot at the Austin Motor Inn located at 114000 N. IH 35. APD officers and Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) responded and located a White male in a room with apparent gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving measures, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene at 2:39 a.m., by Dr. Abraham with the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Officer.
Homicide investigators and crime scene technicians responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. According to the victim’s father, a verbal argument broke out between his son and a friend of his identified as Felix Rodriguez. Rodriguez shot the victim and fled the scene.
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.
A 1st degree murder warrant has been issued for Felix Rodriguez. The bond is set at $500,000.
