The Austin Police Department (APD) has made two arrests in the June 23 homicide of Brandon O. Johnson at 3811 E. 12th St., Givens District Park.
On September 1, 2021, the Lonestar Fugitive Task Force arrested Laderious Nicholson without incident at a residence in Leander, TX. He was transported to the Travis County Jail and booked on 1st degree murder and has a $500,000 dollar bond.
On September 2, 2021, the Lonstar Fugitive Task Force arrested Sheawna Caldwell without incident in the 1100 Block of Garland St. She was booked into the Travis County jail and charged with aggravated robbery. Her bond has been set at 100,000.

Initial Release from June 25, 2021:
On Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at approximately 8:23 p.m., Austin 9-1-1 received multiple calls of several shots fired at Givens Park, 3811 E. 12th St. Callers reported that there was a person in a car near the tennis courts at this location. APD officers arrived on scene and located a parked vehicle with a single Black male occupant in the driver’s seat who was unresponsive. APD officers removed the driver from the vehicle and observed that he had suffered several gunshot wounds. They quickly began to perform life-saving measures on the victim until Austin-Travis County EMS arrived on the scene. The victim, Brandon Johnson, was quickly transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 9:07 p.m.
Homicide investigators and crime scene technicians were called to the scene to investigate and process the scene. This case is currently under investigation.
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy and determined the official cause of death as Gunshot wounds and manner, Homicide.
