Arrested: Cordell Christopher Adams, Black male, 36 years of age
The Austin Police Department (APD) has made an arrest in the August 2 homicide of Alejandro Austin on N. Lamar Blvd. Austin 911 received a report of a shots fired at 10102 N. Lamar Blvd. APD officers and Austin-Travis County EMS arrived on scene and located the victim lying in the parking with obvious trauma. The victim, later identified as Alejandro Austin, was immediately transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas in critical condition. At 3 p.m., the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Dr. Farnsworth.
Homicide investigators and crime scene technicians responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. According to witnesses, the victim had been arguing with a known suspect just prior to the shooting.
On August 3, 2021, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy and ruled the cause of death as gunshot wound and the manner, homicide.
On August 4, 2021, Cordell Adams was arrested by the Lonestar Fugitive Task Force for 1st degree felony murder and has a $500,000 bond. He was booked into the Travis County Jail.
