The Austin Fire Department Community Advisory Board (F-CAB) is a newly created Board that reports directly to Chief Kerr, and is comprised of AFD Executive Staff, and Austin community leaders who are willing to make a commitment to serve and represent their respective communities. Board members provide community feedback on how AFD can develop better methods to reduce fire risks and medical emergencies.

If you, or someone you know, is interested in serving on the F-CAB, please complete/submit the application. We are looking for at least two representatives from each of the ten City Council Districts to join us on the Board.

The Board meets quarterly in the evenings, on a week day, for roughly 2 – 3 hours, at either the AFD Headquarters or Public Safety Training Facility. AFD believes this a great way for the Fire Department to learn from our local leaders and for those same leaders to learn more about how the Fire Department operates.
