Celebrate Black History Month at Carver Museum ATX!
The Carver Museum, Cultural, and Genealogical Center is proud to present a extensive calendar of programming for Black History Month! Did you know that there is a theme every year for Black History Month? The 2024 BHM theme as developed and created by the Father of Black History Month, Carter G. Woodson and the Association for the Study of African American Life and History is "African Americans and the Arts". We celebrate Black creatives, dancers, musicians, visual artists, performing artists, writers, and more as we present programming all month long to our community. We've partnered with local businesses, artists, and organizations to bring East Austin and beyond an exciting month of events that aim to rebuild communities of color, invite our neighbors to learn and participate, and most importantly, celebrate Black History! At Carver Museum ATX, we shine our light the brightest in February, but we honor, protect, and teach Black History 365 days a year. Join us all month long at the Carver! Check out each event below using our calendar overview!
