About Fleet Mobility Services

The Austin Fleet Mobility Department plays a vital role in keeping our city running, managing over 7,000 vehicles across 25 departments, including essential services like Fire, Police, EMS, Austin Energy, and Austin Water.

Today, we’re leading exciting efforts to modernize city operations by introducing electric vehicles into fleets like solid waste trucks and police cars, helping reduce emissions and improve efficiency. We also successfully launched our Connected Vehicle Program, enhancing the safety and intelligence of our streets. These innovations reflect our commitment to a more sustainable, forward-thinking Austin—because we believe a better fleet means a better future for everyone.
