The City of Austin is incredibly proud of our local music culture, and every Austin City Council meeting includes live Music Proclamation Day performances during the lunch hour, which is broadcasted live on ATXN.tv.

Performers are bestowed the honor of a “Music Proclamation Day” with an accompanying certificate and their band name permanently included in the City calendar. These musicians will have their own City of Austin “Day” for the rest of their lives, and many have annual celebrations of their day with fans and supporters.

The No Lobbying Report is now a consolidated list, listing solicitations issued by the Purchasing Office, Contract Management Department, and all other delegated authorities. The Development Services Department (DSD) issues other types of permits for various City Departments.

The Austin Fire Department must approve the installation of any stationary liquified petroleum gas container, above- or below-ground.

The City of Austin offers a variety of permit programs for businesses that would like to offer outdoor seating or retail options for their customers, including sidewalk cafes, street patios, and parking lot patios. 

The PARD planning process includes collaboration with community members to identify desired park or facility uses. These plans (formerly called "master plans") include District and Metropolitan Vision Plans, Concept Plans, Facility Plans, and Facility Expansion Plans (Terms and Definitions). PARD staff also reviews other adopted or recognized plans for consistency with the proposed plans.

The public can participate in an Austin City Council meeting in two ways: through general public communication or by speaking on specific agenda items.

The ombudsperson serves as a neutral third-party to provide assistance to resolve non-civil service employee personnel action grievances, workplace environment issues and other human resources-related matters. See Ombudsman Process for additional information.

The City is pleased to recognize the people, programs, and events that make Austin unique by issuing proclamations and other recognitions. NOTE:  Requests made through the Proclamation and Recognition Request Form are for recognitions by the City of Austin mayor, not the State of Texas and its governor. Go to the Office of the Texas Governor's I Need Assistance form to request proclamations from the State of Texas (select "Ceremonial Items" in the Issue field).

The City Clerk will post public notices, including Rule Postings, Election Notices, Firefighter, Police Officer, and EMS Personnel Civil Service Commission Notices, and other public notices.
