Thank you for your comments and concerns regarding the water coolers on the trail. While the Parks and Recreation Department appreciates the desire to continue providing this benefit to the public, the current distribution method is inconsistent with Health Code Regulations- City Code Chapter 10-3. In order to comply with the Code, the Department has placed a moratorium on the water cooler water dispensing while it develops a process to come into compliance. It is the Department’s intention to develop and implement an appropriate and acceptable procedure for water dispensing by the end of January, 2013. In the interim, the public is encouraged to utilize water fountains located along the trail or to bring a water bottle while enjoying the trail.
