Every year throughout the U.S., celebratory gunfire, or discharging firearms into the air account for many injuries, and in some cases, even death.

Your Celebrations Shouldn't Hurt Others

It's illegal. Don't do it. (Besides, it could cost you up to $2,000)

Fireworks and gunfire can be traumatic for animals.

Did you know a dog's hearing is about four times more sensitive than a human's?  Every year, pets are lost or injured due to trying to escape the sounds of fireworks. Be a good neighbor. Don't set them off near your furry friends. It doesn't just affect pets. It also affects wildlife that try to escape, run into the roads, and can cause crashes.

Pet owners, here are some ways to keep your pets safe and calm during holiday celebrations.

Fireworks and gunfire can also be traumatic for people.

People recovering from PTSD, those on the Autism spectrum, and others can be affected by loud noises from fireworks and gunfire.  You may also have neighbors who work a night shift or have a newborn. Be a courteous neighbor.
