The Austin Fire Department invites community members 18 and older to ride out at one of our fire stations as often as once per quarter. The experience offers participants an opportunity to increase understanding of operations (firefighting) and the other services provided by AFD during a shift.
All ride outs are scheduled between 12:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., though participants are not required to stay for the entire period.
Individuals wishing to request a ride out must complete this request and release form at least two weeks in advance of the desired ride-along date. We also encourage the reading of and commitment to the ride along rules listed in the form.
