On Sunday, February 23, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a large, planned community event was being held at the Bartholomew District Park. During the event, multiple unidentified males were involved in a physical disturbance in the parking lot near the baseball field. Shortly after the disturbance, multiple gunshots were fired in the area, striking one victim and multiple vehicles. The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening-injuries.

The preliminary investigation shows that several persons of interest were gathered shortly before the gunshots began. A large crowd was present during the shooting. Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance with any information, videos, audio recordings or witnesses that may have seen the shooting or have information pertaining to the investigation.
