The Austin Police Department (APD) Aggravated Assault Unit is requesting public assistance with identifying a suspect involved in an Aggravated Assault that occurred at the Reserve at Springdale Apartments located at 5605 Springdale Road on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at approximately 5:23 p.m.
On the above date and time, a victim was sitting in his vehicle at the apartment complex when a silver Dodge Challenger drove past. At least one suspect exited the Dodge Challenger and opened fire on the victim with an assault style rifle. The victim was not struck, however, three cars in the parking lot were. The suspect then left the scene. The suspect was described as wearing a ski mask and having dreads down to his shoulders.
Detectives have exhausted all other leads in attempts to identify the suspect, and are now asking for help from the community. Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have tips to help locate the suspect is asked to contact the Austin Police Department.
The suspect is described as:
- Black male
- Shoulder-length dreads
- Last seen wearing a ski mask

A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
