The Austin Police Department (APD) Robbery Unit has made an arrest and is requesting public assistance with locating a French Bulldog that was stolen in an Aggravated Robbery that occurred in the 1100 block of Shady Lane on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m.
On the above date and time, a victim was walking his two dogs in an apartment complex when a suspect, later identified as Raderrick Harvey, drove up to the victim and inquired about his French Bulldog, named Freya. Harvey began to make demands for the victim to give Freya to him, but the victim refused. Harvey shot the victim in the foot and stole Freya. In doing so, Harvey dragged and ran over the second dog as he drove away. The second dog received minor injuries.
APD Robbery detectives investigated the case and issued an Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon warrant for Raderrick Harvey.
On February 4, 2025, the APD Violent Crimes Task Force, with assistance from APD K9, Elgin Police Department and the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office, located Harvey in Elgin, TX and placed him under arrest.
Harvey was in possession of two rifles (AK-47 style pistol and AR-15 style pistol) and a small quantity of illicit narcotics. Harvey is currently in custody at Bastrop County Jail.
Freya has not been recovered at this time and is believed to have been transferred to multiple parties. We have included photos of Freya below. Please contact the Austin Police Department with any information that could lead the safe reunion of Freya and her family.
