On Monday, December 30, 2024, at approximately 7:37 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash involving three vehicles in the 13800 block of North IH-35 SB. The driver of the first vehicle fled the scene. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the third vehicle sustained minor injuries. On Friday, January 25, 2025, the driver of the second vehicle, identified as Terry Campo, succumbed to her sustained injuries, and was pronounced deceased.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 96th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 103 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 90 fatal crashes resulted in 94 deaths.
