Location: Bread Basket – 2228 E Cesar Chavez Street
The Austin Police Department (APD) Robbery Unit is requesting public assistance with identifying a suspect involved in a Robbery by Assault that occurred at the Bread Basket Convenience store located at 2228 E Cesar Chavez Street on November 14, 2024, between the hours of 9 and 9:15 a.m.
The suspect, whose description and photos are included below, entered the store, and stole multiple vapes from a display facing the cash register. When the clerk tried to stop the theft by grabbing the vapes, he was assaulted by the suspect. The suspect then stole the vapes and left the Bread Basket toward 2nd and Pedernales streets.
The suspect described as:
- Black male
- 18-21 years of age
- 5’ 9” tall
- 150-175 lbs.
- Thin build
- Short, curly hair
- He was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black slide on house shoes, and carrying a white hoodie.
