On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at approximately 8:37 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the 7100 block of East Hwy 290 WB for a collision between a motorcycle and a pedestrian. Both, the motorcyclist, later identified as Kendra Dorby Mottley, and an unidentified pedestrian were pronounced deceased on the scene.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 92nd fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 99 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 89 fatal crashes resulted in 92 fatalities.
