Austin Police Department (APD) Vehicular Homicide Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a vehicle that left the scene of a fatal crash in the 4600 block of E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at approximately 9:32 p.m.
Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash that involved two vehicles and a pedestrian in the 4600 block of E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The pedestrian was crossing midblock and was struck by a white SUV followed by a second unknown vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the white SUV remained on scene, was not injured, and is cooperating with the investigation. The driver of the second vehicle left the scene without stopping or calling 9-1-1.

- Dark Colored

On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at approximately 9:32 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash that involved two vehicles and a pedestrian in the 4600 block of E. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.
The pedestrian was crossing midblock and was struck by a white SUV followed by another vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the white SUV remained on scene, was not injured, and is cooperating with the investigation. The driver of the second vehicle left the scene without stopping or calling 9-1-1.
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 66 fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 71 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2023, 67 fatal crashes resulted in 70 fatalities.
