On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a shooting at 2121 Burton Dr. The caller stated there was gun fire and someone had been shot. Patrol officers arrived and found the victim, later identified as Keshan Ramonce Cage, with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation showed that an unidentified suspect shot Cage. The investigation is in the early stages and the motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
