The Austin Parks and Recreation Department’s Oakwood Cemetery presents a new online exhibit “Unificar, to Unite.” “Unificar, to Unite” explores historical and contemporary Tejano organizations, their accomplishments, and their journeys of advocating for social change in Texas.

Join the Oakwood Cemetery Chapel for the “Unificando Hoy (Uniting Today)” celebratory workshop on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 1601 Navasota St.
Tejano community organizers from various Texas organizations will conduct workshop sessions teaching attendees how to organize within their communities, leading discussions on advocacy, and sharing insights on working behind the scenes on social and political movements.
The event is free to attend, and free parking is available at the cemetery.
