AUSTIN, Texas – Today, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), in partnership with CLEAR and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced a new, convenient option for travelers to enroll and renew in TSA PreCheck® on-site at the airport. CLEAR, a secure identity platform, now offers TSA PreCheck® enrollment at their enrollment kiosks located by TSA Checkpoint 1. No appointment is needed for enrollment in either the CLEAR or TSA PreCheck® programs at these kiosks.

While travelers do not need to have both CLEAR and TSA PreCheck®, enrolling in both programs can expedite wait times during TSA security screening. All TSA PreCheck® and CLEAR users are currently screened at Checkpoint 2 West at AUS, following a consolidation of operations earlier this year by TSA and CLEAR to streamline the customer experience.

TSA PreCheck® is a federal security program designed to expedite the screening process for travelers deemed low risk by the Transportation Security Administration. The benefits of TSA PreCheck® include:

• Keeping your shoes and belt on through the security screening process
• Not removing your laptop or liquids from your carry-on bag during screening
• Screening via walk-through machines rather than full-body scanners

To enroll in TSA PreCheck®, passengers must provide an original or certified copy of identity or citizenship status documentation from the approved identification list. TSA PreCheck® costs $78 or $85, depending on the enrollment provider, lasts for five years, and offers easy online renewal.

Enrollment for the program is now available at four locations in the Central Texas region:

• Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Baggage Claim – Appointment required
• Austin-Bergstrom International Airport CLEAR Enrollment Center – No appointment required, walk-up only
• Oak Hill Enrollment Center – Appointment required

By offering both CLEAR and TSA PreCheck® enrollment at CLEAR enrollment kiosks, AUS travelers can now easily sign up for these programs that enhance the efficiency and convenience of their airport experience. Enrolling in CLEAR costs $189 annually, providing access to dedicated lanes and automated identity verification at participating airports. When combined with TSA PreCheck, travelers can significantly reduce the time spent in security lines, making their airport journey smoother and faster.

New TSA PreCheck® applicants can pre-enroll or find an enrollment location by visiting the authorized CLEAR, TSA PreCheck® website, www.tsaprecheckbyclear.tsa.dhs.gov, where there is special enrollment pricing. Most existing TSA PreCheck® members throughout the U.S. can renew directly on CLEAR’s authorized TSA PreCheck® website, regardless of the provider they enrolled with originally.
