On May 29, 2024, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to the call of a shooting at 401 Little Texas Ln. When officers arrived, they located a Hispanic male, who was later identified as Olvin Ponce with apparent gunshot wounds. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (A/TCEMS) arrived and attempted medical assistance, but Mr. Ponce was pronounced deceased at 9:50 p.m.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. The investigation showed that Mr. Ponce had been shot by a known suspect who fled the scene.
